How to fertilize tomatoes with Neptune’s harvest?

Neptune's Harvest is a brand of organic fertilizer manufactured by Ocean Crest Seafoods Inc. The fertilizer is made by processing what remains of fish after removal of the parts fit for human consumption. No chemicals or synthetics are added to the product. Neptune's Harvest manufactures a hydrolized fish-seaweed blend, ideal for fertilizing the tomato garden.

Centuries ago, the Eastern Woodland Indians used fish carcasses to fertilize their crops. Only in recent decades, however, have gardeners begun to appreciate the value of fish as fertilizer. Modern, liquid fish fertilizers have become a favorite of home gardeners and organic gardening advocates. Neptune's Harvest Fish and Seafood Fertilizer, 2-3-1, is an all-purpose, natural fertilizer that is used for vegetable growing. Tomatoes are heavy feeders and benefit from the consistent nutrition it supplies.
  1. Fill a watering can. Shake the bottle of Neptune's Harvest to mix the ingredients. Add 1/8 cup fertilizer for each gallon of water. Stir to mix.
  2. Apply enough solution to saturate the soil above to the root zone. Start feeding when you plant your tomato seedlings. You will probably need about 1 cup of solution for each plant when they are newly planted. As the plants grow, you will need to apply more liquid to cover their greater root zones.
  3. Spray the tomato leaves with the solution any time you think the plant needs a shot in the arm. For example, when growth slows down or the leaves don't look as green and vigorous as they should. The leaves start to absorb the nutrients right away, making them efficacious sooner. Use a spray bottle set to coarse spray. Do this early in the morning or later in the evening to prevent damage to tender leaves from mid-day sun.
  4. Reapply the fertilizer to the soil every two to three weeks for consistent nutrition.
